Coronavirus Update
(Last updated 12/07/2020)
Like all churches in the UK the Coronavirus has had a huge impact.
There is no stopping our church. Many church activities have moved from the building into the community. Our services are now on-line (see the St John’s Online menu option) and are reaching more people than ever before. Some of them have been viewed more than 3000 times. There is “Zoom Coffee” after the service to allow us to keep in touch.
There are daily prayers on-line along with regular children’s activities and other services.
Most life groups are continuing via Skype or Zoom or similar. Contact your Life Group leader for more information. Many other ministries are continuing on-line.
If you need help of any sort because of the epidemic, or can offer help, please contact the church office.
We will try to keep the web site updated with the current details about all aspects of how the epidemic is affecting the church. Each page of the web site has an update if it is affected in any way.
The Church Building
The church building is currently open for private prayer Monday to Thursday 12.30-1.30pm. The is a small communion service at 12.00 on Wednesdays.
We are not yet ready to start a Sunday Morning service in the church building, it remains on-line, although the on-line services are streamed from the Church.
The government allows churches to operate with certain restrictions in place (for example no singing). Our first concern is health and safety. When we do open we will have have taken all the precautions that we are able to, and this will take a little time. Currently there is no fixed date for restarting the Sunday morning service in church.
The Easter Centre
All events in the Easter Centre are currently cancelled or have been moved on-line. Playbox, the church nursery school, is now running again in a smaller way focusing mostly on the older children.
Helping The Local Community
The church is currently doing what it can to help the community in these challenging times. We offer prayer support, shopping, prescription deliveries etc.
