Footprints – Sunday mornings for children
During the Covid-19 epidemic Foorprints continues to operate on-line.
There is an online service at 4pm each Sunday on our YouTube channel, with stories, songs, challenges and more. Year 6 have a weekly catch-up Zoom session including a game. For more information contact rachel@stjohnsegham.com.
What is Footprints?
We call ourselves Footprints as we see each group that meets throughout the church as a Footprint on our journey through life.
There is a staffed crèche area for our very young members at the back of church. When the children are two and a half years old they move into Little Footprints, and as they grow older they progress to the main Footprints group.
The children leave Footprints to move on to Outbreak in year 6.
When is Footprints?
Each Sunday, Footprints and Little Footprints starts at 10.45am at the Easter Centre, Manor Farm Lane, Egham TW20 9HR next to St John’s. Children remain until around 12.30 when their parents collect them. All children from the age of 2 and a half – 11 years are welcome – Mum or Dad can stay if you like!
Come and join us one Sunday or contact the church office for more information.
What happens?
Each Sunday we celebrate birthdays and any special events, then we usually split into small groups where the children will hear a bible story and work on a related craft activity. Parents are welcome to stay with their children in the Easter centre, go to the adult service in church, or drop their children off and pick them up at the end of Footprints.
Once or twice a term we hold activities on a Saturday such as a Christmas craft afternoon, a party in the new year, and praise parties.
All Age Services
On the first Sunday of the month Footprints joins the rest of the church as all ages gather together for an hour long service. All of our all age services are in the main church at 11am and are an amazing chance for the whole body of Christ to worship God together, including its littlest members!
Footprints is about care, love and the beginnings of a relationship with Jesus
In Footprints we try to create a caring, loving environment where the children have a fun time worshipping God. We want the children to enjoy coming to Footprints and learning about God so we teach using a variety of methods including stories, drama, puppets, interactive sketches etc.
We hope as the children grow they will remember the words of God that they hear on a Sunday, and as they journey on through their Christian life their path will be lit by the teaching they receive with us.
We encourage children to bring their friends so they too can experience the friendship of God. By the time children leave Footprints they will know Jesus as their friend, they will know they can talk to him any time and that they are very special and important to him.
